Detailed Tasting Notes
-- Verdant Path Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon --
La Noscean Vineyards, Wineport, Eastern La Noscea
Aged 24 moons
ABV: 13.5%Nose: this rich red greets you with coffee, chocolate, and dark berry on the nose. The coffee tempers the berries, and the chocolate mellows them both out. A real treat of a beginning.Palate: the long, hot summer days of La Noscea ripen these grapes to their fruity fullest, creating a deep, jammy texture. This wine will grace your palate with chocolate, and - oh yes - cherry pie flavors, and the aged oak barrels give it a gravitas that keeps it real. It’s as intense as the La Noscean summer and as refreshing as their cool nights. This wine enjoys a low alcohol content, making it cooling on the tongue. The tannins inherent in this grape save this wine from overpowering sweetness, pulling it back just as you give in to all that fruit - such a tease!-- Verdant Path Cellars Chardonnay --
La Noscean Vineyards, Wineport, Eastern La Noscea
Aged 20 moons
ABV: 13.5%Nose: the carefree aromas of pear and lime blend with warm coconut from the toasted oak barrels that nurtured this wine. Do I sense twilight on a spring evening in Costa Del Sol?Palate: this wine has a surprising silky, creamy texture, with the sweet-tart taste of pineapple to delight the tongue. This wine has no heat on the tongue or in the breath at all. Aging the lees brings a creaminess to this chardonnay, which lingers in a soft caramel finish cultivated by the Kholusian white oak barrels that cradled it. To pair? Well, you already have pineapple upside down cake in your glass.-- Verdant Path Cellars Rosé --
La Noscean Vineyards, Wineport, Eastern La Noscea
Aged 12 moons
ABV: 13.0%Nose: The crispness of lemon meets sweet raspberry, with white campanula floral notes in the background. Into whose garden did we stumble?Palate: This wine brings us bright, not yet ripe peaches, with sweetened lemon and elderflower notes. This wine lingers in the liminal spaces - between sweet and dry, between red and white, and in the tiny space between you and your beloved on a moonlit night. This wine is meant to cool the tongue, and that it does, with its low alcohol content. Tannins? What tannins? Pair this wine with a picnic basket charcuterie, a blanket, and a sunset. This is a wine that embraces both the humble and the delicate, and is sure to delight you wherever you are (but especially at the Frugal Moogle).
